You can begin making beautiful labels and markers for your home with just metallic tape and a pencil.

... plus something on which to build your label. We started with the items shown below, including round acrylic blanks, plastic T-shaped plant markers, and dog tag blanks that fit perfectly on curly garden stakes. But you can also make labels on recycled pie pans or card stock.

We love these sun and moon garden markers shown below which were made on round acrylic blanks found on Amazon. We hung them on curly plant stakes outside.

This marker below reminds us of a classic copper garden marker, but it is built on a much less expensive T-shaped plastic marker.

We used a small square of aluminum tape under the copper because it is much easier to etch with a pencil.

Then, we sandwiched the plastic marker in two sheets of copper tape. Cut out the marker close to the edge, leaving enough to fold back, burnish, and completely seal the marker.

We etched lettering onto the marker with a pencil, then added a bit of color with a ballpoint pen.

Ready for years of service outdoors.

3D Turtle marker
We placed a round puffy sticker on copper afixed to one of the acrylic rounds, then after we made the aluminum turtle, colored it and cut it out, we placed it on top of the copper circle. There is no aluminum under the copper colors, which is why the water design is not as deep as the lines on the turtle's back.

If you have a pattern of the correct size, it is easy to trace it onto the aluminum tape with a pencil. After we etched the turtle onto the aluminum, we colored it with Sharpie ink, wiped away while it is still wet leaving a colorful stain.

Copper Botanical Marker
We covered a real leaf from our garden under copper tape, along with tiny 3D alphabet stickers. The colors are made with Sharpie ink, wiped away while it is still wet.

On the back, the acrylic disk is transparent so you can see the leaf inside.

Copper labels outdoors may get weather marks, but we think that will add to their charm over time.
DIY Copper Labels for the Kitchen
These metallic labels are great in the kitchen and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

On the right is a label made with real boxwood leaves. We made tiny circles with a pencil around the pressed leaves so that it looks like hammered copper.
Copper Garden Marker with a Spoon
This fancy garden marker is a wooden spoon.

Under the tape are alphabet letters and pieces of embossed greeting cards, layered inside two sheets of copper tape.

Trim the tape close enough to the spoon so that you can fold back the edges and burnish them down. That way the wood and paper are complete sealed for use outside.

We antiqued the design using Sharpie pen ink, wiped away while still wet.
Two Tone Metallic Tape Labels
It wasn't long before we were mixing the two colors of metallic tape for unique labels.

Most of our artwork was found on FreePik.com
Logos are a good thing to search for because they are meant to fit onto labels.

The dog tag label below is copper tape over three floral puffy stickers.

Copper Tape on aluminum Pie plate Square
We love the look of copper labels on wicker. We made this horse label for our basket by starting with a square cut from an aluminum pie plate.

The horse is surrounded by the small circles made with a pencil to create the hammered look. Staining around the horse with Sharpie ink also enhances this look.
Labels with Aluminum Tape
The first metallic tape labels we made were with the aluminum tape alone, some with metallic alphabet stickers on top. They are five years old, as of this writing, and still looking great.

There is so much more you can do with metallic tape. Check out the video channel and don't miss the next episode!
